Introduction

Evently (Evently, "we", "us", "our") operates the Evently mobile application, a community announcements platform focused on Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. We take your privacy seriously and aim to be transparent about the limited data we handle.

We do not sell your personal data.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, and authentication identifiers. This information is used to operate your account and communicate with you about the service.

Profile information

You may add optional profile details such as a display name, bio, profile photo, and general area within Dubai. Information you choose to add to your profile may be visible to other users of Evently.

Posts and user content

When you create an announcement, we collect the title, description, category, area, optional event date and time, optional location URL, and any images you attach. Once a post is approved, it may be visible to other users of Evently.

Images uploaded by users

Images you upload are stored to display your posts and profile content. Please do not upload images that contain other people without their consent, or that otherwise violate the rights of others.

Reports and moderation data

If you report a post or are the subject of a report, we collect information about the report (such as the reported content, reason, and timestamp). This information is reviewed by our moderators and admins and is used to keep the community safe.

Device and app information

We may collect technical information about your device and app session, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This helps us operate, secure, and improve the service.

Analytics and crash logs

We may use privacy-respecting analytics and crash-reporting tools to understand how the app is used and to fix bugs. Where available, these tools are configured to avoid collecting unnecessary identifiers.

How we use information

• To operate, maintain, and improve Evently.
• To display posts, profiles, and other user-generated content within the app.
• To review reports, enforce our community guidelines, and protect our users.
• To communicate with you about your account, support requests, and updates.

How we share information

We share information with limited categories of recipients, only as needed to operate the service:

• Other users. Approved posts and your public profile may be visible to other users of Evently.
• Service providers. Vendors who help us host, operate, secure, and analyse the app, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
• Legal, safety, and moderation reasons. Where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect users, prevent harm, or enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data storage and security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, and misuse. No system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, but we work to maintain reasonable safeguards.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. When information is no longer required, we will delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Account deletion

You can request account deletion from inside the app or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we will remove or anonymise your account, profile, and posts, except where information must be retained for legal, safety, security, or moderation purposes (for example, to keep records of reports or to comply with applicable law).

Children's privacy

Evently is not directed to children under the age required by the applicable local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

International users

Evently is operated from and primarily intended for users in the United Arab Emirates. If you access the service from outside the UAE, you understand that your information may be processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
